Bernice Faces a Growing Threat
Bernice’s situation becomes one of the biggest concerns of the month. Petro is determined to help her, but Uys is not always convinced that Petro is handling things the right way. Their disagreement becomes more serious as Bernice’s circumstances continue to change.
The situation takes a worrying turn when Bernice begins receiving threats. Rather than allowing herself to be intimidated, she pushes back, but that only attracts more attention. Petro eventually tells Uys what has been happening, and by 20 November, Uys finally discovers who is responsible.
Johan Keeps Turning Up the Pressure on Ella

Katryn, Henry and Dewald Become More Complicated
Katryn and Henry’s relationship begins moving in an interesting direction when Katryn defends him during a confrontation with Dewald. Henry later invites her to dinner, and the two soon find themselves keeping a decision under wraps.
Dewald’s feelings complicate matters further. He wants to ask Katryn out, only to receive an unpleasant surprise, and Katryn later finds herself having to tell Johan the truth about Henry. By the end of November, she is also noticeably uncomfortable around Dewald.
Mercia’s Plans Keep Going Wrong
Mercia enters November full of ideas. She considers selling tea, starts working at Tonik and is determined to prove that she can become a permanent solution there.
Unfortunately, things rarely go smoothly for long. She makes a mistake she wants Naomi to keep secret, launches a money-making plan that does not work out, and eventually has Louis confronting her about her string of unsuccessful schemes. Even then, Mercia is not quite ready to give up.
Uys Has More to Worry About Than Bernice
Much of Uys’s month is initially tied to Bernice, but his own behaviour later becomes a cause for concern. After discovering the truth behind the threats, he receives a message about something he believes is his responsibility.
By the end of November, Petro is worried about him and Joe notices that Uys is acting strangely. Whatever is troubling him appears far from settled as the month comes to an end.
